GLAM Survey of Collecting Policy & Practice:
Magdalen College Archives, University of Oxford

The archives of Magdalen College hold papers related to Lord Alfred Douglas, Oscar Wilde, John Betjeman, and other Old Members. Apart from the Douglas papers (given by his literary executor), most of the College’s literary archives are small collections of letters given by the recipient or their descendants. There are also some papers collected by Old Members or Fellows which include letters from literary men. For example, the papers of John Bloxam (Fellow 1835-63) include many letters from Cardinal Newman.
