GLAM’s Cataloguing Working Party was set up to produce practical guidelines for the cataloguing of literary archives and manuscripts. It is the hope that these guidelines will prove useful for all cataloguers, but especially for individuals who are not professionally trained archivists – be they librarians, museum curators, PhD candidates or paraprofessionals who find themselves faced with the task of cataloguing literary papers.

The cataloguing guidelines will be reviewed periodically, but it is hoped that the thesaurus and glossary will be living documents, updated annually. Please let us know what you think.
